RECIPE OF THE MONTH

Grilled Smoked Turkey & Hash Brown Wrap

INGREDIENTS

Grilled Smoke Turkey Wrap.JPG
  • 1, 12-inch Tortilla Wrap

  • 1/4 Cup Shredded Cheddar Cheese

  • 1/2 Cup Smoked Turkey, small dice or pulled

  • 1/2 Cup Chipotle BBQ Sauce

  • 1/2 Cup Hash Browns, Cooked

  • 1/4 Cup Grilled Onions

  • 2 Tbsp Pico de Gallo

DIRECTIONS

  1. Place tortilla on a warm griddle or grill for 20-30 seconds to warm the tortilla slightly. (this helps prevent tear or break when rolling)

  2. Spread cheddar evenly in the center of the tortilla.

  3. Combine turkey and BBQ sauce, mix, and place in a row in the center of the tortilla. Place hasbrowns and onion in row next to the turkey. Sprinkle evenly with Pico de Gallo.

  4. Fold inward the two smaller sides of the tortilla, then roll the bottom (larger) side over the filling and tuck in tightly. Roll wrap until seam is on bottom and press gently to create a slightly flatter surface and seal.

  5. On a preheated griddle add 1 Tbsp of olive oil and gently place wrap seam side down on griddle. Lightly brush top of wrap with additional oil. Grill for 1-1 ½ minutes or until crisp and golden brown. Gently turn wrap over and grill the top in the same fashion.

  6. Remove and place on a cutting board seam side down and cut in half. Serve immediately.

TURKEY IS…

Nutritious: A 3 ounce serving of skinless turkey breast has more protein than chicken or beef and zero percent saturated fat.

Versatile: The wide range of cuts and products available (such as ground turkey, turkey sausage and turkey breast cuts) are easy to incorporate into any meal.

Economical: Turkey is a great way to trim grocery expenses by making use of the entire bird and incorporating the leftovers into future meals.

Tasty: The mild taste of turkey combines readily with most seasonings, making it an ideal choice in spicy ethnic dishes or as a substitute for higher-fat meats in your favorite recipes.
